Item description for Adv Odyssey V36: Danger Signals (4CD)(Repack) by Focus on the Family, & Focus...

Overview
Join Whit and the gang in the latest collection of stories from the popular "Adventures in Odyssey" radio show. In each of the 12 30-minute episodes, something happens that seems to signal a danger ahead. CD.

Publishers Description
Something sinister is brewing the quiet town of Odyssey. And it's not just the usual fast one by resident rogue Bart Rathbone. A strange sense of foreboding is in the air, and not even Whit can put his finger on it. The kids are flocking to the hot new after-school place; while back at Whit's End, the windows are collecting dust--the ones that aren't being smashed, that is. Things haven't been the saem since media conglomerate Novacom moved in. Even Connie turns to much whenever Novacom's new hire, Robert Mitchell, is around. Are the kids--maybe even Odyssey itself--losing that small-town innocence that always kept them out of harm's way? Find out in these 12 riveting new episodes.

Volume 36 contains the following stories (and themes): The W.E. (discernment) Green Eyes and Yellow Tulips (judging others) Snow Day (perseverance) The Triangle, 1 & 2 (forgiveness) Broken Window (jumping to conclusions) Chains, 1 & 2 (earning trust) Break a Leg (appreciating what you have) Fifteen Minutes (the folly of fame) Welcoming Wooton (giftedness) Breaking Point (choosing the best over the good)

Reviews - What do customers think about Adv Odyssey V36: Danger Signals (4CD)(Repack)?

Danger Begins to Build  May 29, 2002
Things aren't quite right in Odyssey, and no one can quite put their finger on why. Novacom, the new company in town, seems to want to fit in and make its new neighbors happy. Mitch, their new P.R. man, certainly strikes Connie's fancy. And Whit has a great opportunity to reach out to Connellsville when he's offered a chance to open a second Whit's End there. But there's plenty of time for fun, too, as Alex must try to get some cookies past Rodney to his grandmother. And there's the mystery of the broken window. Plus Edwin Blackgaard has to deal with daily life without Shakespeare when the assistant breaks a leg.

This collection feels like a return to the fun of the old stories. I love having some kind of ongoing story that advances a little at a time, but I also enjoy the stand-alone stories. This collection has a good mix of both. It's also nice to see the same kids in enough stories to watch them develop. I'm really starting to like the current crop.

Having listened to Adventures in Odyssey since it started, I'm glad to see a return to the kind of story telling that hooked me as a kid. Hopefully, they can keep this going for years to come.

Getting Better  Aug 18, 2001
With the introduction of novacom as the new villian? in the series, Odyssey has an infusion to set right the aimless wanderings of the series since blackgaard died in 25.

The biggest new story in this series, since Novacom was introduced an album earlier is the constuction of a new Whit's End in Connelsville. Are the writers making it too grand now? Originally all the action centered around Whit's End in the early years, and now the action has spread to include the Timothy Center and Jack and Joan's shop. How many more "key" sites can be added before it gets to be too much?

I think the album is better than its recent predeccessors because it has focus. I just hope that the writers are on the begging of an upswing and not the peak of a small hill.
