 | Scary! Jun 11, 2010 |
| I loved this book. It was suspenseful and quite frightening. It's about an online social networking site called GrapeVyne which is much like facebook. It was created by a college student who just wanted students to have somewhere to meet other people. Unfortunately, those on this site seem to post every single thing about themselves. Nothing is private. They post all day long. They post what they are doing and where they are going, where they live, what school they go to, etc. You get the idea. Nothing is sacred to these teenagers. But a predator begins stalking girls whose profiles are on GrapeVyne. After the first girl gets killed, her sister joins forces with the creator of GrapeVyne to try to capture the "predator". It's a chilling book because it deals with exactly what kids on social networking sites do. I highly recommend this book because not only is it a good read, but it is really informative. Makes you think. | | | | Predator Jun 10, 2010 |
Outstanding Terri. This has to be your best book yet. I read it in just a little over 2 days finding it hard to put down. It grabs you from page one and keeps you reading until the very end because you just have to find out what happens next. More like this one please. I always wait hopefully for the newest Terri Blackstock. As a librarian I see her books go out the door constantly. As a book lover myself, I started it right away even before I made it available to the public. Disappointing! The plot was good, but not as tightly woven as some of her others. To have the "bad guy" die at the hands of dogs, was anticlimatic. Perhaps, it was the topic matter. I'm not really sure. Her "Restoration" series is much better. If all of them were like this, I would stop reading her. | | | | Riveting Suspense from Blackstock!! May 29, 2010 |
There is a reason Terri Blackstock's name is synonymous with suspense, and PREDATOR is that reason. This is the best suspense book I have ever read. When a young girl is murdered after leaving her personal information on a networking site, her sister is determined to trap the killer and bring him to justice. This book really hits home. Being on the internet a lot myself, I am pretty careful about what I say, but this book made me look at my favorite sites even closer. But beyond a good lesson, the story was gripping from cover to cover. I couldn't put this book down. The actions on the page transposed to the screen of my mind where I could see it all unfold. The characters were well portrayed and spoke to my heart. Especially when Krista struggles with her faith after losing her sister. I figured out the villain about half way through, but it didn't take away from the pleasure of finding out I was right in the end. The suspense kept me flipping pages at an alarming rate and my heart beating fast. Truly the BEST book written by Terri Blackstock that I have read and I highly recommend it to suspense readers!! This review is my honest opinion. Thanks to the publishers through CFBA for my copy to review.
