Item description for In the Beginning- Open Edition 8"x10" Paper Framed in Pewter by Jack E. Dawson/Bittersweet Gallery...

Overview
This painting shows god creating the universe. The hands are God's hands showing that he's still holding on and watching over us. The river like milky way is the new life flowing on. On the the left hand you can see the shadow of Christ in prayer for us. In the sky you can see Jesus written with the stars.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. Colossians 1:16

1. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1

2. The hands of Christ created all things and even now he is holding all things together. Colossians 1:16-17

3. Jeremiah 1:5 states, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you..."

4. This painting is the first in a series entitled "The River of Life Series." As new lives comes into existence they flow, so to speak, to the earth.

5. Some lives are cut short and return to their Maker, the Heavenly Father.

6. The shadow image of Christ praying reminds us of His prayer for us in John 17:20 "I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message."

7. JESUS is the Name above all names, for "...there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

About the Artist - Jack Dawson
Jack E. Dawson was born in 1950 and became interested in art at a very early age. By the age of 20 he had produced several significant works including a 30-foot statue entitled, The Praying Hands, which is located in his hometown of Webb City, Missouri. Jack has used many media over the years including watercolor, oil, acrylic and sculpture. Jack is currently serving as a Sunday School teacher and deacon at the church he attends, and combining his artistic ability with his desire to teach. Jack's career in art has spanned over 30 years and his principal purpose has been to spread the message of Jesus Christ through his work.

Jack and his wife Nancy launched Bittersweet Gallery over 20 years ago. In 1999 Jack began painting what is now known as "The Seek and Find Series." They felt that these works should not stay "tucked away" in his studio. With the help of their children, they began marketing his prints to stores and through this website. The sale of Jack's artwork has grown and is now available in gift shops and retail stores across the country.
