	I Love Dr. Dobson's Books!  Aug 18, 2006
I have never written a review or thought I should but after reading The Wonderful World of Boys, I feel that I must. The photographs are beautiful and together with Dr. Dobson's eloquent writing, it makes you want to own a copy of this book. Certain pages made me laugh while others made me cry but the best thing about this book is that it gives all God fearing people the hope to know that no matter how much society tries to distance themselves from God, there is always someone like Dr. Dobson who will fight to prevent such a disaster. Keep up the good work Dr. Dobson! After I came across his book, Dare to Discipline, I decided that he is the only child care expert whose books I would buy and read.

This is a great summary of Dr. Dobson's book Bringing Up Boys. It highlights the information that he explores in the book, and adds extra tidbits. The photos are darling and made me smile - they portray the exciting life of boys. Dr. Dobson approaches childrearing in a God-centered way and encourages parents to lead their son to the path of Godly righteousness. If this is your goal, then this would be a wonderful addition to your library.

I found this book totally unrelated to my experience of bringing up two sons, and far too rightwing in its reliance on fundamentalist "Christian" ideas of child-rearing. I have to wonder at the photos: viewing them on en masse makes me curious about Dobson's own sexuality, particularly considered in conjunction with his obsession with corporal punishment. This series of books, is in my opinion, a figleaf for abusers, giving them supposed "Christian" approval for hurting children. An emphatic non-recommendation. I'd've given it no stars whatsoever, but this is not an option on this site.

I appreciate Dr. Dobson's common sense approach to the differences between the sexes. We as a society need to realize the behavioral, psychological and physical differences between boys and girls if we are to raise good citizens. I learned some new things about my husband when reading this book! This is a definite must read for all of us who have men and boys in our lives.

This is a wonderful book! The photography in this book will bring a smile to anyone who has boys. My two boys just love looking at the pictures. Dr. Dobson's advice is right on target. Yes, our children need to be brought up in a home that shows the love of Jesus. Too many words to express this book - just get your own copy and see! It also makes a wonderful coffee table book.
