Item description for 100 Ways To Simplify Your Life by Joyce Meyer...
Overview Shares no-nonsense advice for how to draw on one's faith in order to balance today's hectic and complicated schedule demands, counseling readers on a variety of topics from prioritizing and trusting in God to letting go and embracing realistic expectations.
Publishers Description Joyce Meyer is one busy lady. Apart from the normal demands of life, she teaches daily on TV and radio, writes books, holds conferences in dozens of cities every year and ministers around the world...and she runs JoyceMeyerMinistries. So she's had to learn how to make the most of every minute of the day! In 100 Ways to Simplify Your Life, Joyce shares the most effective secrets she's learned over the years for making the most of each minute of the day. In less than two pages per entry, Joyce gives us eminently 'doable' tips that are clearcut and ...well, SIMPLE. But they can change your whole outlook, not to mention your schedule.
From Publishers Weekly Television evangelist and bestselling author Meyer most certainly will appeal to her large fan base in this new title on honing one's ability to create a simpler, more streamlined life. Meyer offers readers 100 brief readings composed of pithy quotations, a Bible verse, and her homespun advice about living simply. Topics include learning to be content with what you have; letting go of the past; choosing quality over quantity; being quick to forgive; minding your own business; cultivating solitude; avoiding people who talk too much; resisting the devil; letting discipline be your friend; and trusting God to change you and others. Meyer knows her audience well and this resource will please them. Still, there are a number of subjects that read a bit redundantly, such as the essays on regularly re-evaluating commitments and defining personal priorities to name just two. This repetition of material may make readers wonder if Meyer was simply trying to fill her "100 ways" quota for the book. (Nov.) Copyright 2008 Reed Business Information. |

| I bought this book for my daughter. She took it back to college with her and enjoyed it very much, thanks again. | | | | Life advice Aug 14, 2009 |
| Joyce Meyer is always entertaining and brings the gospel to life in a user friendly way. This may not be #1 of her books, but it ranks right up there in the top 10. We are ALL to busy. Sometimes hard to follow her advice, which means SHE IS right! I recommend for those of us doing too many things. | | | | 100 Ways to Simplify Your Life Aug 12, 2009 |
| I have watched Joyce Meyer on TV many times over the years. Her messages are awesome. This was my first time reading a book by her. I loved it. The book was easy to read and understand. You can read a little each day and reflect on the message. I could relate too many of her 100 ways to simplify your life. Finally, I like how she also provides a scripture for each way. This book truly blessed me! I will incorporate many of these in my day to day lifestyle to simplify my life. Anyway, I did purchased several of Joyce books when I got "100 Ways to Simplify Your Life" so now I will start reading "Managing Your Emotions" Then "The Power of Being Positive"; "Conflict Free Living" and "Battlefield Of The Mind" I look forward to the blessings that I will receive from these books as well. Also, she have a few really nice daily devotional books that I am now reading everyday in the morning I read "A New Day A New You" and at night I read "Ending Your Day Right." I highly recommend you read a few of Joyce Meyer books should you have the opportunity. You will not be disappointed and you will gain even more. | | | | PERTINENT FOR TODAY AND ALWAYS May 20, 2009 |
| My second Joyce Meyer book and it was pleasurable to say the least. Self-help devotees will savor it all as the author points out so vividly what life's priorities really are, and how to achieve more satisfaction from those hectic schedules and demands. The writing is clear-cut and void of any dichotomies. The one item of interest to me that stuck in my mind was about setting boundries (#18). The solid tips are profitable, convincing and certainly down-to-earth. This little book makes a great gift, and is perfect for individuals who are at their rock-bottom in life. Let's face it: life is complicated. Most of us feel like we're doing too much with too little and half the time we don't know whether we're coming or going. In this book popular Bible teacher Joyce Meyer suggests strategies to make life in the 21st century a little easier. Tips range from the practical (clear out the clutter, organise, stay out of debt and block solicitor's phone calls) to the spiritual (keep God first, pray about everything, and become like a little child).
While there is some good stuff here, I really didn't learn anything that would help me simplify my life. Many of the spiritual topics are repeated in slightly varying forms. For example: tip #44 is "pray about everything"; #61 is "keep prayer simple" and #77 is "pray before you have an emergency". I certainly don't quarrel with the material presented, but I would have preferred to see a broader range of subjects.
Additionally, no topic is given more than a page and a half. Obliviously no book can cover a hundred different items in depth, but I felt many concepts received only cursory summaries.
While this book doesn't offer any life-changing insights, it does make a decent daily devotional. | | | Write your own review about 100 Ways To Simplify Your Life
