From Publishers Weekly Higgs, bestselling author of Bad Girls of the Bible, offers a sweet but
substantial gift book about accepting God's grace and leaving the past behind.
Higgs's personal history includes "a lost decade of sex, drugs, and rock 'n
'roll," and though she doesn't focus on her past, she writes believably as
someone who struggled with accepting grace herself. Each chapter contains
multiple Scripture verses strung together with comments she's received from
readers (such as, "I don't feel I am worthy of having God forgive me of my
sins and weaknesses. I feel like a failure.") and reflections from her own
life. She walks through several stages of receiving grace-including doubting
that grace could be possible, confronting sin, forgiving yourself and
repenting. Readers will feel at ease with Higgs's down-home style that's never
preachy. Higgs aims to provide "a field guide, tracing a well-worn footpath
from doubt to belief, pointing us away from shame and toward hope." She
succeeds, and readers who are looking for more insight from this former Bad
Girl will be very thankful. (Sept. 19) Copyright 2006 Reed Business

Reviews - What do customers think about Embrace Grace: Welcome to the Forgiven Life?
 | The Little Book That Could Feb 1, 2007 |
| Embrace Grace is a little book with a powerful message. It's appropriate for anyone who's struggled with feeling worthy of grace and mercy, compassion and encouragement. Liz Curtis Higgs delivers a message of hope and help for the hurting. She shares her own and others' experiences on the path to not just accepting God's grace, but embracing it. | | | | Embrace Grace Jan 9, 2007 |
| This books was very spirit led. I read it with my bible study group; however, on an individual basis it would be very worthwhile also! It is a quick read, with individual chapters divided easily for devotional type reading. I highly recommend this book! Embrace His Grace & Forgiveness!! | | | | Wasn't What I Expected, But Good Jan 8, 2007 |
| This was not what I expected, however, it was good reading, but sometimes a little confusing. I wasn't expecting the writer to be as laid back as she was, and thought there would be more suggestions on how to's, but it was more of experiences that were shared. | | | | Big Hug from God! Nov 12, 2006 |
| I heartily recommend "Embrace Grace" to every woman regardless of her situation. If you've ever struggled with shame, guilt, depression, or feeling unloved by God, this book is for you! For those who feel like they don't belong, who lack faith, who have a past they are ashamed of . . . or for those who just need to feel loved and accepted, this book will feel like a big hug from God as He embraces you in arms of grace and forgiveness. Order several copies . . . one for yourself to read again and again, and some to give to your friends. Our ministry is about hope . . . and that is what you will find in this book. We're very excited to see what God will do in your heart as you soak in His love through the words of Liz Curtis Higgs. | | | | Profoundly encouraging book... Oct 28, 2006 |
| Embrace Grace is one of the most encouraging and insightful non-fiction books I've read that addresses the forgiven life that can only be found in Christ. Liz discusses a multitude of topics based on e-mails she has received from women who were hurting and needed assurance that their Heavenly Father loves them and has forgiven them. I received comfort within the pages of Embrace Grace that I, too, am not exempt from God's ever-reaching power and all-encompassing grace. For me the most powerful chapter was "Embrace Sin." What? You ask. Embrace sin? Here's the subtitle. "How could he love me after all I've done?" This chapter includes both before and after salvation. It still gives me goosebumps and I get a little choked up when I think about it. Very powerful. A must read.
