Item description for Word-Bible From 26 Translations Blue Bonded Leather by Mathis Publisher...
THE WORD contains the complete authorized King James Version of the Bible plus the most helpful insights taken from 25 additional Old Testament and New Testament English Translations.
Altogether, THE WORD provides you with a pre-researched virtual Bible library totaling 38 translations (Some are exclusively Old Testament Translations; others are exclusively New Testament Translations) contributed by more than 20 internationally acclaimed English Bible Publishers. To my knowledge, never in the history of Christian Publishing have so many Bible Publishers contributed to a single work.
While the project may initially seem complicated, it is in reality, an extremely simple, easy-to use Bible that will equip you with an extraordinary understanding of scripture.
Thanks to the labor of the editorial board, headed by Dr. Curtis Vaughan, THE WORD provides---in just a few seconds of simple reading---an understanding of scripture that was previously possible only through hours of tedious research using an entire bookshelf of Bibles.

 | Fabulous!! Jul 1, 2008 |
"What can I say but .. wonderful. I use mainly computer bible programmes when I study.. having many versions to compare & contrast endeavouring to catch the full meaning (if possible) of God's truth in His Word. This volume of 26 versions in 1..is really the King James Version (in BOLD) with alernative readings but as part of the verse.. so it's not a parallel bible nor an amplified as such.. If there is a different way of wording it then it is listed with the verse. If my computer goes down or I just wan't to actually have a book in my hand.. then this is a wonderful resource to have. I have been researching into the whole versions debate.. KJV ( & Textus Receptus) versus everything else.. and the value or possible mistakes in the new versions (based on the Critical Texts) and the others (using the.TR or Majority Texts) I'm still undecided in it all but have learned a lot and having a volume like this is marvelous as a study aid. The publisher has a web site (thewordbible dot com) stating all the versions used (none of the really new ones like NIV, NASB, NKJV etc) but there was enough to be going on with. I enjoy having this volume and consider it money well spent - especially on here where I got a wonderful bargain.. so I was even more blessed. Top marks from me." | | | | Great Bible Aug 1, 2005 |
| A "must have" for any serious student of the Bible. The entire King James is in bold type. Very easy to compare with other translations. If the KJV is inconsistent with earlier manuscripts discover in recent years it is pointed out in a footnote. My only objection is the size of the type...it is a bit smaller than my other Bibles. Other than that, I highly recommend. | | | | The Word: The Bible from 26 Translations/Bonded Leather Dec 19, 2004 |
| This book is a rare treasure! I have had mine for years. I'm buying additional copies to give as gifts. Not only do I enjoy reading it, but, I use it as a tool for studies. | | | | The Word: The Bible from 26 Translations Jun 10, 2004 |

| I must admit, that reading the Old/New Testaments is a very hard and often boring/tedious task to accomplish. (What? No one else has this problem? Sheesh.) While I maintain that the original King James Version is the most accurate of all translations based on the best and numerous extant ancient manuscripts, the King James English leaves me in the lurch as far as being understandable. Some passages are beautiful, but the archaic idioms, syntax, sentence structure and words give me no benefit in understanding the content and meaning of the verses. Enter "The Word" in 26 translations. While this sounds rather daunting, this version does a very smart and efficient thing. While it is true that there are 26 different translations, this edition only lists any significant differences from certain translations as compared to the King James version, which is used as the primary reading verse. So in reality, for each verse, you may have about three to five different readings underneath the King James verse. If something in the KJV seems foggy in meaning, you can immediately skip down underneath the verse to see the alternative translations. This brings much clarity and insight. The only "drawback" to this edition is it's realitivly large size. It isn't light or small by anymeans. However the understanding and insight gathered from this translation has more than made up for the relatively expensive price and oversized shape of the book. If the publishers ever produce a volume that is much smaller than this edition, I am sure that it would be a best seller. I found this book a great solution for the scripture reading blues. | | | Write your own review about Word-Bible From 26 Translations Blue Bonded Leather
