Item description for Dracula (The Classic Collection) (The Classic Collection) by Bram Stoker & Tom Casaletto...
Overview Written mostly in the form of diaries and journals, the classic story of the powerful, centuries-old vampire tracks the cruel count from Transylvania to England, where he devastates London until Doctor Van Helsing ends his bloody reign.
Publishers Description Perhaps the most famous vampire story of all time, and the most popular, Dracula is recreated in its entirety in this unabridged audio program. The story of Dracula has been retold and recreated many times in film and on the stage in the last hundred years. Yet, it is essentially a Victorian saga, an awesome tale of a thrillingly bloodthirsty vampire whose nocturnal atrocities embody the dark underside of an outwardly moralistic age. Dracula represents all the hidden and repressed power of male and female sexuality, of animal lust, and passion unleashed. Above all, Dracula is a quintessential story of suspense and horror, boasting one of the most terrifying creatures in literature: centuries-old Count Dracula. Near the beginning of this tale, Jonathan Harker knows little of what is in store when he receives the following letter: "My friend - Welcome to the Carpathians. I am anxiously expecting you. Sleep well tonight. At three tomorrow the diligence will start for Bukovina; a place on it is kept for you. At the Borgo Pass my carriage will await you and bring you to me. Your friend, Dracula." |

Reviews - What do customers think about Dracula (The Classic Collection) (The Classic Collection)?
 | The Definitive Audio Performance Jul 2, 2006 |
| If, by want or necessity, you need to listen to Bram Stoker's classic tale then this is, without question, the best version to purchase. While there are numerous other offerings of the nefarious Count (and as a Dracula aficionado I have heard many of them) none, in my opinion, come close to Brilliant Audio's production. The use of multiple professional voice actors is the key. While most audio readings are done with one person reading all the parts, male as well as female, Brilliance employed numerous actors and cast them exceptionally well. Sheila Hart's portrayal of Mina is particularly good. This is a performance - not just a verbatim reading. I have enjoyed this audio book more times than I care to mention, and never grow tired of it. I whole-heartedly recommend it to you, good reader. | | | Write your own review about Dracula (The Classic Collection) (The Classic Collection)
