 | Adam's Synchronological Chart Review Jan 2, 2010 |
Excellent, Precise, Accurate. Words cannot describe this gorgeous map of history. It's concise, pictorial, colorful, full of images, great content overall.
I've never seen a book of this magnitude. The binding and the thick texture of the pages will make this book last for years to come. It's fun to read alone, with family, or friends.
It challenges my knowledge of the bible and I love it when I discover something I hadn't even thought about, like the possibility that Adam shared his knowledge and relationship with God and events over his lifetime with his grand, great, great grand children who passed it onto us (now history). Showing the lineage of Jesus Christ leading up to Joseph who married Mary who was pregnant with Jesus...
Because it's so pictorial, it's easier to understand christian events taking place simultaneously with other world events, ie. Romans, Grecians, leading up to modern day inventions.
Thanks for the great reading material. Priceless.Adam's Synchronological Chart or Map of History. | | | | Amazing, huge, and very, very detailed Nov 24, 2009 |
First off I have to say that this hard-cover chart is much larger than it looks from the picture; fortunately, the 20 or so individual fold sections(covering about 400 years each) can be flipped through like pages of a book so you don't have to unfold the whole thing every time you look at it; there is also a wall poster version you can buy, though you need to make sure you have a whopping 25 feet of wall for it.
The chart itself is remarkably detailed; it give a detailed visualization of much of the family tree of Genesis, with an individual section devoted to the genealogy of Christ. It also shows the development of many ancient civilization, showing the time spans of various empires, and even connects the line of Chinese emperors to Noah.
This time chart relies upon James Ussher's dating of creation at 4004 BC. In addition, it contains well over 100 illustrations accompanied by various text blocks fleshing out details of the various time periods.
It also includes a booklet that goes into excellent detail concerning various civilizations from ancient Egypt to America. | | | | Awesome Nov 14, 2009 |
| A work of art to be sure. The effort to compile this chart and the depth of information and facts contained in this chart is amazing. Well worth the price. | | | | Very thorough! Oct 4, 2009 |
| This is a HUGE book. It won't fit on any of your bookshelves. It is also the most thorough and interesting timeline that I have ever seen! A great Historical reference for every homeschooling Mom and Dad. I hope to soon purchase the "Annals of the World" by James Ussher Annals of the World: James Ussher's Classic Survey of World Historyto accompany this beautiful book! | | | | Distressing Sep 26, 2009 |
| This timeline/chronology was recently sold at my daughter's school - which claims to be a non-religious organization. I find it distressing that fallacious ideas about the beginning of humanity and the roots of our current civilization are so eagerly embraced in modern society. One does not need to travel back in time to find proof of human existence prior to 4004 BCE. Fossil evidence is much more conclusive than a collection of stories written during an age when we didn't even understand that the Earth revolves around the Sun. As a relic of a less informed age this book is entertaining; as a source of historical fact - distressing. | | | Write your own review about Chart-Adams Chart Of History-Casebound
