Item description for Child Training Tips: What I Wish I Knew When My Children Were Young by Reb Bradley...

Overview
More than just another book on child training, this is an invaluable tool for helping parents identify their blind spots. Every chapter consists of symptom lists that identify behavior problems and expose trouble spots in parenting. This book answers such questions as: How can a parent tell if he has given control of his home to his children? How can a child be trained to obey quickly when spoken to calmly and only one time? How do parents accidentally train their children to disobey them?

This a wonderful book full of love for kids. Parents need to be taught how to raise kids because all we see now days are out of control families. This book is great!

I have a question for you...are you serious??? Do you really believe that stuff you have on your website? One thing, circumcision is NOT genital mutilation, as a nurse there are many health benefits and pros that maybe you are just uneducated on. Another thing, I actually have HAD abuse happen in my home, and it wasn't by "the female"..it was male on males. That male is currently not living in my home, so your assumption that it is the female that does the "hitting" is wrong. Also, it IS okay to spank, I don't know what tree hugging Liberals you have spoken to, but I actually spoke to a Child Protective Worker with a Master's in Social Work and I was told that it is perfectly fine and acceptable to pop or "spank" on the butt or thigh. Nobody, except for you so far and I guess your "cohorts" that call it violence or beating. This is exactly what is wrong with the youth of today and the future.......the don't get their butt's spanked....therefore, their behavior is"You can't touch me", "I don't HAVE to listen to authority because nobody is allowed to touch me" BULL......some of these kids need their butts beat hard!!! You think pussy footing around them and patting their heads is going to teach them to be fine upstanding citizens of society...???? I think you can look around and you would have to be either blind or ignorant to see that this type of attitude does NOT work for the good of society. Society has taken something good and decent and screwed it up!!! I have such pity for you and anyone who reads your crap on the web. I couldn't even stomach to read more than two articles. Maybe you need to get some childhood education, sociology and possibly some psychology courses behind you. And if you have already, maybe you took them too long ago, because sonny, things have changed!!! Wake up!!!

hile I may not agree with EVERY single item in his book....the people who have give Reb Bradley poor reviews have totally taken alot of his book out of context. I suggest you read soem other's reviews, before believeing the "water cooler" talk coming from these guys. I guarantee if you have a kid walk up to you smart off at you in the mall and take your purse and run....I can almost bet this kid never had a hand laid on him for his attitude or disrespect!!! Is this what we want our world to become???

This book is invaluable  Mar 5, 2008
We read this book and watched the video series 4 years ago and it changed our lives and the direction of our family. It is thorough, practical and most importantly Biblical. Our children are happy and loving rather than miserable and selfish. We are so thankful for it.

Wonderful Resource  Feb 28, 2008
I really appreciate the practical advice that this book has to offer. It does not advocate child abuse, etc., as some reviewers (many of whom I suspect never actually read the book) have claimed. The author offers sound Biblical advice on raising children, and after only one month of following his advice, I can already see a remarkable difference in my own toddlers. They are much more obedient and we are all happier as a result!

Group effort to undermine this book?  Feb 13, 2008
Just noticed how polarized the reviews are - either 5 star or 1 star. I noticed that out of 39 1-star ratings, about 14 of them were all done at the very last few days of April - appeared to be some deliberate group effort to attack this book. Just wanted to point this out to potential buyers.
(I personally have found the book extremely helpful, very true to our society, and very grounded in scripture).
