Reviews - What do customers think about Commentary-Romans (John Stott Bible) (Repack)?
 | Wrong book due to wrong advertising approach Sep 16, 2009 |
I ordered 2 books that I thought was Stott's bigger commentary on Romans, about 300 pages. I received 2 small 96p study groups books. Before I go on, let me tell you I did not receive the books from the dealers I initially contacted, but 2 subsidiary shops, one of which had stiffed me before by advertising a pack of 6 paperbacks, which I was seeking, but sent me ONE of a pack of 6 which is what "THEY" meant but never communicated clearly. Anyway, I wrote these 2 groups & one shop told me: We cannot always find an exact picture of the product advertised, so we substitute another. HELLO! Even with another picture, how can you advertise a 300+ p book & send a 96p book. SO I am unhappy with this purchase. BUT, I quickly received my inaccurate order!! :>) The reason I have not mentioned the bookshops is I got such inaccurate information on who sent what book that I cannot correctly give you the info. | | | | In Depth Study of Romans Mar 21, 2009 |
| This is an excellent in depth study of Romans from a reformed conservative view by John Stott. It is not light reading at all but it is full of much insight into the words as well as the writer, who is the apostle Paul. Stott takes you through this wonderful book chapter by chapter and verse by verse. I would highly recommend this book for those who are interested in a serious understanding of this book of the New Testament. | | | | Very insightful Nov 4, 2008 |
| This is a tough book of the bible to study. However, this guide does a great job of getting you to think about it in terms of our lives today. I highly recommend. | | | | Very thorough, very encouraging! Jul 6, 2001 |
| Stott does a great job (as usual) in this very thorough study on the book of Romans. He covers all of the major issues and themes in the book with scholarly integrity. At the same time he masterfully encourages the true believer as to the power of a sovereign God and the value of a true believer. It's not the lightest reading but it is well worth the effort. | | | | experience and understand the gospel as a group Jul 23, 2000 |
| The first few chapters are hard going and it will take a leader experienced with the bible, studying hard to get through but after a little while the book moves on to the heart of the gospel and everyone will be blessed. John Stott writes leading questions that facilitate conversation and lead to easy study. | | | Write your own review about Commentary-Romans (John Stott Bible) (Repack)
