| This book gives a good basis to have a starting point to teach spelling to your children. There are pre review tests to have your children take to help you to determine exactly what level you should begin teaching your child. The pre test is long for young children but, we broke it up into pieces so that the children wouldn't become overwhelmed or too tired with all of those words. At this point, we have only done the pre test. It seems that the procedure in the book for memorizing correct spelling is a little redundant since my children do a pretty good job of picking up on the correct spelling of new words quickly, so we will have to see if the repetitiveness is unnecessary. I can see how children who may have difficulty with spelling would benefit from the procedure that the author outlines.
