My sister, and I grew up listening to this one on vinyl. Though no one has a record player, it's still around and probably very well worn. I am looking forward to seeing this one in the mail. Growing up singing in the childrens choirs, we probably performed every song on this album. This brings back such wonderful, and precious memories. I can't wait to see my little boys learning the songs I sang, and singing the tunes!

I grew up listening to the Bill Gaither Trio's albums ESPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN volumes 1 and 2. "I Am A Promise" is a great way for the album to start off with. This song is one of my theme songs. I really can't think of a more important message that kids need to absorb. Without a doubt one of the best songs on the album. 5 stars "O How I Love Jesus" is a slower song...it is a good song...although it could seem a bit draggy sometimes. 4 stars "This Is The Day That The Lord Has Made" is a song whose musical style will probably seem quite dated now. But it's still a good song. 4 stars. "Into My Heart" a great slow song to sing...5 stars "Jesus Loves The Little Children" is the familiar kid song with a fast-paced drumming march. 3 stars. "God Loves To Talk To Little Boys While They're Fishing" is a slower song...never been one of my favorites...perhaps since I'm a girl who has no interest in fishing :) 3 stars "Jesus, I Heard You Had A Big House" a nice song loosely based on Jesus' promise in John 14. 4 stars "This Little Thought Of Mine" a variation of "This Little Light of Mine" "It's A Miracle" a fun song posing lots of questions...4 stars "I Have A Friend" a slow song...it's okay...but never been one of my favorites...3 stars "God Can" is a faster-paced song that's fun to sing along with. One of my favorites. 5 stars "You're Something Special" is a slower song. Good song. Good message. 4 stars. "Jesus Loves Me" a very slow rendition of the traditional "Jesus Loves Me." 3 stars. Overall, the album is good. I love "I Am A Promise" and "IT's A Miracle" but some of the other songs just haven't made quite a lasting impression on me.
